This beautiful, easy and fun pattern to stitch this month is available in four sizes from 23″ square, , 18″ square, 12″ square, and a lumbar – good for your back – wide  pillow 22″ x 13″ high. At the top is colorway 01 showing the whole group in traditional Celtic Gospel Book colors. Below is the 04 colorway in blue and yellow. To honor the colors of the Ukraine, I added possible additional color and pattern options to Lindisfarne 04. It looks complicated but is easy and a lot of fun to stitch in the cross-point™ Technique. Six chart pages in symbols and colors, plus a separate set of charts with the scrolls outline surrounding each leaf, bird or flower, reduces counting to just filling in remaining colors.

Pattern Siena is available in 7 color choices and there are scores of companion patterns in the cross-point™ collection found on the Pattern Page on the website. The regular price is $145.00 for the kit but with the 20% off retail, it is only $116.00, plus shipping.

Pattern History for this Kilim:

On the cross-point™ website we list eight color options for this easy to stitch pattern. Like other Kilims, Balouch is easy, fast and fun to stitch. Nomadic Balouch are known for somber, tightly woven saddle bags, wool kilims and other useful objects. Balouch women weave their objects on ground looms – like cross-point™ kits – they are easily transported from camp to camp. Originally designed as a pillow, in the photo above  the pattern is shown adapted to a small pillow insert as well as a long border that fits on large chairs and makes plain upholstery more interesting.

In addition to our original 7 color options, a new color has been added. All are available as pillows, large and small; as pillow inserts; as long borders; and as rugs. Our newest color is based on historic tapestry colors with the addition of popular teals:

All color options shown on the website also show numerous companion patterns in related colors. We also posted images of the small Insert in all colors. The Long Border repeats the Insert pattern for the full 80 inch length. As you know, we also offer custom colors on all our patterns. My Plaid pattern is a liberal interpretation of a traditional Tartan plaid. It is a lot of fun to stitch because the pattern charts include a Stitching Guide chart for the two key diagonal main colors. Once these two colors are stitched, it is easy to fill in the remaining colors. In addition to the cross-point™ Technique information, also included are the individual instructions for this pattern specifically. Following these specific instructions will prevent any distortion of the background jute making any restretching or washing totally unnecessary.

At cross-point.com we make it easy for you to create color schemes for stitching of pillows, upholstery, rugs and runners. On the website we list companion kits for every pattern and colorway.

The Special Offer this month is to choose the starting KEY pattern and then add ONE other pattern or companion design listed in the same coloration to receive 20% Off Retail for both.  Another option is to use one KEY pattern and choose one other size in the same pattern. NEW MOGHUL 05 COLORS

HISTORY

Our Moghul suzani pattern is reminiscent of the princely embroideries of Moghul courts but suzani type patterns occur throughout Central Asia. Suzani embroideries were made as part of a bride’s dowry to be given to the groom on the wedding day.  Usually made of silk and cotton, suzanis were extremely labor intensive and took many years to complete by several female relatives. They are still being created today.

Our Suzani is in wool, and in our cross-point™ tradition, made for fast, fun, and easy stitching. Our newest, most traditional suzani color option – 05, is in rich reds, soft golds, quiet greens on a traditional off-white background.

MOGHUL sizes and color options

 On the cross-point website Pattern Page, are five sizes available in this wonderful striking pattern. Four are shown below: Top left #MOG-B-05,  the large 23 x inch (58x58cm) square, includes a substantial outer border; on the top right is #MOG-05, 20″ x 20″ (51x51cm) square; on the left below is the lumbar (“good for your back) pillow #MOGST-05, 19″ wide by 14″ high (48x36cm); and on the right the smallest version of Moghul – #MOGSM-05, only 13″ x 13″ (33x33cm) which is quickly stitched in our cross-point Technique. The Stripe is also available in a longer version #MOGST-L which 26″ wide by 14” high (66x36cm), a great size for sofas and bed pillows.

 On the cross-point website Pattern Page, are three sizes available in this wonderful pattern. Inspired by heraldic chevron motifs found on a 16th Century velvet fragment, CHEVRON is available in four stock colors for lumbar and oversize long pillows as well as a small throw rug size. We will be introducing a new color option for both pillows and upholstery soon. For readers of this blog it is available now by emailing me or calling me. Price is the same as existing kits: $109 for CHE-04 (26″long x 11 3/4″ high), and $79 for #CHSM-04 (19″long x 11 3/4″ high) with the SPECIAL MONTHLY OFFER of LESS 20%, at the low prices of $87.20 and $63.20.
