LUMBAR PILLOWS @ 20% Off Retail
Did you know that back problems are responsible for 60 to 70% of doctor visits? Since 1996, cross-point has offered a variety of lumbar pillow kits in various lengths and heights, from 8 to 14 inches high by 18 to 30 inches wide. We called it our “Good for your Back” pillow. Which size will give you the support you need depends on the width of your chair, sofa or bed. Thirty-three patterns in the cross-point collection are currently available in over 300 color options. Below are a few examples in the cross-point™ collection. The photo at the top is a new colorway for our 12th Century geometric pattern, color 08.
Lumbar Pillows
Of 53 patterns in our collection, 33 also have a “Good For Your Back” pillow size option. Our lumbar pillows are mainly designed for chairs and sofas. If you read or do other work in your bed, you may want more than a lumbar size in order to sit straight and upright. On the cross-point website you will find large squares from 22″ to 24″.
We also need to maintain good posture while sitting in a chair and stitching. Pillows from 8 to 11 inches in height fit into the space between seat and back, and 12″ to 14″ heights give more support higher up on the chair back and allow muscles to relax thereby preventing fatigue. Ideally, your “good for your back” pillow will support the curvature of the spine and prevent slouching. I have a small “good for your back” pillow I keep on my car seat at all times. Many studies have been done and you will find pages and pages on the internet giving information on options and sources for materials – soft but firm – to insert into your beautifully stitched piece.
In addition to patterns shown above, please visit the website pattern pages to see additional color options and also additional companion patterns. To aid in finding any of the above designs, the first two or three letters in the text under the pillows in the image above are also the first two or three letters for the pattern name on the Pattern Page.
Feel free to comment on this blog or send me an email if you would like more information. I previously wrote about wide pillows for sofas and beds in this blog post.
I’ve used my lumbar pillow for years. Pretty and practical.
I like that the pillows aren’t just for show: the materials used are high quality and tough enough to be put into daily, practical use.
